Criminal Shot Open-carrier with His Own Gun in Nevada
A recent incident where a gun owner was shot with his own firearm in Las Vegas raises questions about open carry practices.
On May 23, a man who was openly carrying his firearm was fatally shot with his own weapon inside a local Autozone store.
The assailant, identified by police as Kyle Capucci, 36, apparently entered the store exhibiting erratic behavior before engaging with a store employee and subsequently wrestling the firearm from the shopper. After a brief struggle, Capucci managed to seize the gun and fatally shot its owner. He then fled the scene, leaving the firearm behind.
Police and emergency services arrived shortly after the incident, pronouncing the victim dead at the scene. Capucci was apprehended later and charged with murder. Records show he had a previous criminal background, including a felony attempted robbery charge in 2022 and a drug trafficking charge in 2014.
