Rare WW2 MG42 and Gun Collections Seized from Suspect's Home

A search of a Lacey home reveals a WW2 MG42 among a large and varied gun collection related to a military base robbery investigation.
In an operation involving both local and federal authorities, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office and the Army's Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant on a Lacey residence, uncovering a notable collection of weaponry, including a rare World War II MG42 machine gun. The investigation was prompted by a violent robbery at the military base, and the suspects are alleged to have affiliations with white nationalist groups. The FBI SWAT team involved in the operation seized a variety of firearms including short-barrel rifles (information about their legal status was not provided). Importantly, the MG42, a collector’s dream and a piece of historical significance, stands out as a centerpiece of the findings. Also discovered were civilian-grade grenade launchers, a variety of ammunition, body armor, and ballistic helmets. Multiple rifles had been placed at windows throughout the home, but there is no indication they were used against the law enforcement. Following their apprehension, the suspects faced initial charges related to firearm offenses. Local media reports highlight the significant bail set by the Superior Court, amounting to $500,000 each.
